The WARA Newsletter is published twice a year by the West African Research Association with the support of the African Studies Center at Boston University . It is distributed to all members and associates of WARA.

Categories of articles included are:

• News from the WARA Headquarters
• WARC News
• From Our Fellows (reports from WARA grantees)
• Feature Article (topic chosen by WARA officers; submissions by invitation only)
• Research in the Region (research reports from non-WARA grantees)
• Commentary (discussion on current events in West Africa )
• On Review (reviews of recent publications or conferences related to West Africa )
• Announcements and Opportunities (message board for upcoming events)

If you have a contribution that you think would fit with the goals and objectives of the organization, feel free to submit it. Final placement within the rubric listed above is at the discretion of the editor. Material for publication in upcoming newsletters should be submitted electronically to WARA by August 30 for the Fall edition, and February 1 for the Spring edition. Items that arrive after these due dates will be considered for the following edition of the newsletter. WARA has the right to reject items that do not comply with the goals and purposes of the organization and reserves the right to edit and/or modify any submissions for content, format or length. Opinions expressed in published articles, however, belong solely to the author(s).

The current newsletter is only available in hard copy, and is mailed out to all current members of WARA as soon as it is published. Once the next issue comes out, the current newsletter will also be posted below. The best way to have consistent access to the latest WARA newsletter is to Join WARA.
